New Camera
I've been looking to upgrade my Fujifilm X-Pro 2 camera for some time.
I prefer the rangefinder camera design, so I looked at the Fujifilm X100VI and the Sony A7C II, both of which are great cameras. The only drawbacks were that the Fujifilm was a fixed lens, which I don't think I could live with, and the Sony was just so expensive.
With no news on a Fujifilm X-Pro 4 anytime soon, I decided to wait.
Fujifilm then released a half-frame camera, again not for me, then out of the blue, they announced the X-E5.
This was a rangefinder design with all the internals of the X100VI, but had the advantage of interchangeable lenses. This was also as close to the X-Pro range, so I decided this was for me.
As with all new Fujifilm cameras, they are impossible to get hold of and often have to be on a waiting list forever.
I put my name on a waiting list, thinking it would be some time before I would get to the top. To my surprise, I received an email saying that the camera would be available on 14th August, the release day. I quickly paid up and then waited.
The day arrived, and the camera was delivered. Now the proud owner of a Fujifilm X-E5 in silver. The camera looks and feels fantastic.
Time now to set it up and go shooting. I have a trip planned to visit Leake Street Arches, which is a tunnel under London Waterloo train station. It's London's largest legal graffiti wall.
I will post soon and let you know how the camera performs, looking forward to this day out..
